Our Relationship With The Unknown

describeI was rummaging through the top drawer of my desk the other day looking for something. Without thinking, I found myself picking up a cassette that has languished in that drawer for several years. The tape, "Making a Friend of the Unknown" by poet and author David Whyte (1997), seemed to be calling to me this particular day.

Even though I did not go away on vacation this summer (why leave paradise if you already live there?), I still love the energy that is present as folks return from their vacations and a new school year begins with supplies of notebooks, pencils, and pens stocking the shelves at local stores.
