A Place of Love
We must come from a place of love... We must come from a place of
love when we marry. For this other person is not a god or a goddess; not an angel. We human beings are not perfect. We may be impatient, get angry, be petty, jealous and fearful; we are infinitely hungry for love. We may be incapable of love. We are divided within ourselves. We think thoughts we tell ourselves we must not think; we feel emotions that we judge wrong or inappropriate; we utter words that we do not intend. We have unrealistic expectations - for ourselves and those we marry. So we must come from a place of love, the only place where our beloved’s imperfections are not used to build a case against him or her, but rather are seen as loveable aspects to be appreciated as evidence of their humanness -- signs of their fears and longings that mirror our own.
