| After he left the seminary, Rob continued his training at what is now Pacifica Graduate Institute (formerly HRI) in Jungian depth psychologies, from there he developed as a family systems therapist. In 1992, he developed and soon became Clinical Director of a local clinics intensive out-patient treatment program helping those with substance abuse problems. To this day, a third of his patients are either in 12-step programs or are actively finding a way to stop the destructive effects of substance-abuse. At that multi-specialty medical clinic, Rob has worked with a widely diverse group of patients from those struggling to resolve common life-challenges as well as those more ill with Depression, Bi-polar disorder, Panic Attacks and disabling Anxiety. In addition to working with mental illness, Rob has worked with many patients who also struggle with medical conditions. Most of Robs patients are couples or individuals who appreciate his unpretentious but direct style. Robs practice-style is active and the goal is change. Most insurance companies are accepted but feel free to call. Rob makes no secret of the fact that he has struggled with ADHD and dyslexia. He has presented many parent-education classes for parents of kids with ADHD and quite a few of his patients have ADHD. | ||
